Office Jokes

Hello everyone,

So this is the first blog entry from Infusion8. We have been thinking so what should we be posting at this time of the night. Here in the Gold Cost now it is 2236 Hrs. So this is what we Developers came up with (oh and the graphics guy and the cleaner and the guy who fills the coffee machine) with the help of the fantastic Google search.

What’s Your Business Sign?

(1) MARKETING – You are ambitious yet stupid. You chose a marketing degree to avoid having to study in college, concentrating instead on drinking and socializing which is pretty much what your job responsibilities are now. Least compatible with Sales.

(2) SALES – Laziest of all signs, often referred to as “marketing without a degree.” You are also self centered and paranoid. Unless someone calls you and begs you to take their money, you like to avoid contact with customers so you can “concentrate on the big picture.” You seek admiration for your golf game throughout your life.

(3) TECHNOLOGY – Unable to control anything in your personal life, you are instead content to completely control everything that happens at your workplace. Often even YOU don’t understand what you are saying but who can tell. It is written that Geeks shall inherit the Earth.

(4) ENGINEERING – One of only two signs that actually studied in school. It is said that ninety percent of all Personal Ads are placed by engineers. You can be happy with yourself; your office is full of all the latest “ergo dynamic” gadgets. However, we all know what is really causing your “carpal tunnel syndrome.”

(5) ACCOUNTING – The only other sign that studied in school. You are mostly immune from office politics. You are the most feared person in the organization; combined with your extreme organizational traits, the majority of rumors concerning you say that you are completely insane.

(6) HUMAN RESOURCES – Ironically, given your access to confidential information, you tend to be the biggest gossip within the organization. Possibly the only other person that does less work than marketing, you are unable to return any calls today because you have to get a haircut, have lunch AND then mail a letter.

(7) MANAGEMENT/MIDDLE MANAGEMENT – Catty, cut-throat, yet completely spineless, you are destined to remain at your current job for the rest of your life. Unable to make a single decision you tend to measure your worth by the number of meetings you can schedule for yourself. Best suited to marry other “Middle Managers” as everyone in your social circle is a “Middle Manager.”

(8) SENIOR MANAGEMENT – (See above – Same sign, different title)

(9) CUSTOMER SERVICE – Bright, cheery, positive, you are a fifty-cent cab ride from taking your own life. As children very few of you asked your parents for a little cubicle for your room and a headset so you could pretend to play “Customer Service.” Continually passed over for promotions.

(10) CONSULTANT – Lacking any specific knowledge, you use acronyms to avoid revealing your utter lack of experience. You have convinced yourself that your “skills” are in demand and that you could get a higher paying job with any other organization in a heartbeat. You will spend an eternity contemplating these career opportunities without ever taking direct action.

(11) RECRUITER, “HEADHUNTER – “As a “person” that profits from the success of others, you are disdained by most people who actually work for a living. Paid on commission and susceptible to alcoholism, your ulcers and frequent heart attacks correspond directly with fluctuations in the stock market.

(12) PARTNER, PRESIDENT, CEO – You are brilliant or lucky. Your inability to figure out complex systems such as the fax machine suggest the latter.

(13) GOVERNMENT WORKER – Paid to take days off. Government workers are genius inventors, like the invention of new Holidays. They usually suffer from deep depression or anxiety and usually commit serious crimes while on the job….Thus the term “GO POSTAL”

How to create a mobile compatible blog under 30 mins!

So folks finally I managed to find some time to write the tutorial I promised earlier in the week.

It has a been a hectic week for Infusion 8. We have been busy with the final touches to our PrintMate application. I cannot give out too much information but a leading real estate will be using this application to streamline their printing jobs. So no more hassle of doing to the art work using software. Anyway enough of that plugin… back to business.

First of all this is only for webmasters who are running a PHP+MySQL site.

Step 1 – Download and Install WordPress. Follow the on screen instructions to install Worldpress. There aren’t any special tweaks.

Step 2 – Activate the WPtouch iPhone Theme plugin found under the Plugins section.

Step 3 – Change the settings to suite your requirements.

BOOM you got a mobile blog!

When you visit your blog using a PC based browser you will the web version of your blog and if you use your mobile to view the blog you will get the mobile version of your blog.

Please bare in mind we have only tested this on iPhone, iPod touch and Google Android. The doc says this would work on other touch based smart phones.

So thats all folks. Next tutorial will be on using sIFR (or Scalable Inman Flash Replacement) on your website to make them look sexy!

Checking up on your prospective employees/clients

First of all this is my first on the road blog. Just finished off a lunching with a very good friend and a prospective business partner.

I asked my friend hey why don’t you have any pics or comments on your facebook profile. She said some clients/employers do check these to see what kind of person you are. If they see a you are behaving badly that could mean you could potentially lose your oppertunity.

I think the companies or clients who would do this are extreamly backwards. We all got a wild side to us. As far as it is all kept out side of business who gives a ***t. We are living in a digital world and if you can’t get on with it then I say get the hell outta here!

Gumblar Attack – Be aware!

Hi all @ infusion8

i have recently been a victim of a gumblar attack, which installs malicious, Google-focused software on unpatched PCs.

Though the attack appears to come from china, its servers are tracked in Russia, UK and central Europe.

Currently i am testing the bug on browser to no avail. Now i can simply wipe my system, however id rather find a fix.

Right now scansafe is trying to tackle the problem, but i doubt a quick fix will come about soon. The virus creates files called “base64_eval”, so this may point you in the right direction if your ftp is infected. I would also suggest not using ftp and using ssh instead, just for the time being. You can identify the hacked site by searching for “gumblar .cn”, which is where the hack got its name from.

If you see injected iframe code e.g. iframe src=”http ://niklejo .net/?click=2A909B” width=1 height=1 style=”visibility:hidden;position:absolute”> just around the body tag, you should run some php search tests to locate infected files on your server(the scripts may vary but they are hidden in iframe but searchin for gumblar should uncover this wretched beast).

If you are just a home user i would consider a clean re-install(if your not sure just ask here how to do it) and a change of browser. You may also try malwarebytes apparently this has worked for some home users.

I read that 95% of sites infected use php(big coincidence). Also guys be on the lookout for image.php it seems to target image files as well.

Anyway i hope some of this can help some people, I will keep searching a stronger fix. Any helpful comments would be great.

Thanks and have a great day.
